  13. once about a tree

  16. nest in the smutty mire of
  17. soot and slush and ice

  19. there is loneliness
  20. lamplight shines like hot butter
  21. over cobblestones
  22.  
  23. rows and rows and rows
  24. of madly identical
  25. teeth, these stones shining

  27. like enamel the
  28. windows white with frost are blind
  29. with cataracts

  31. Just, now
  32. host of sparrows
  33. take to the evening sky
  34. like frozen gears, so cold, they seize
